We all need to have those breakout moments as designers. You get that first big job that can either define your path for success in the future or lead you down the path of procrastination and ultimate failure.
Is this my moment? Ah, who the hell knows, but I did do a motion graphics for a legitimate company, hoping that it is not my last. I was contacted by the video department from Huck’N'Roll and they were shooting a little production about 29ers. 29ers are mountain bikes that are the new hit craze in the downhill world.
Check out the video on the huck’N'roll.
Hunk’N'Roll wanted a short animation that showed the key features of 29ers. I worked with them over a period of 2 weeks (since the deadline was sooner than later) and created a 30 second animation using After Effects and Photoshop. I wanted to tweak it more but deadlines are deadlines.
Here is my animation:
And here is the final video they made:
So I am hoping this is just the beggining of a long Motion Graphics career.

Awesome job Tyler. I’m glad to hear about the success of the few of us who made a career using the skills they learned in our basements playing video games and screwing around on computers.
This is seriously cool. Well done.
Thanks Jeff (Irishman).
Crazy that we are all growing up, me a designer, you a nurse soon to be anesthesiologist + military man. Adam a coder and outdoor extremist. Charlie, well, still charlie!
You might want to register that domain Jeff.
